How we work

How a TechGenuinely guide is chosen, written, checked and kept up to date, and what the “TechGenuinely Editorial Team” byline means.

Topics drawn from your searches

We start from the questions people type into search engines: an alarm panel that keeps beeping, a camera that went offline, a doorbell that won’t connect to Wi-Fi. A topic is only picked when our guide can do better than the pages already out there, with up-to-date steps, a case they miss or newer models.

Written with AI assistance

New and updated guides are written with the help of artificial intelligence. They all follow the same outline: the answer in the first lines, the steps from the simplest to the most technical, then the frequently asked questions.

They are signed “TechGenuinely Editorial Team”, and a note at the end of the guide says that its facts and sources were checked automatically before publication, with a link to this page.

Facts checked against official sources

Before a guide goes live, every useful fact is checked automatically against an official source: the manufacturer’s website, its support pages or a public agency. That goes for a menu path, an error code or a warranty period as much as for a technical spec. A fact that can’t be confirmed is corrected or removed.

The “✓ Facts and sources checked on…” badge under the title gives the date of that check.

Every link in a guide is tested before it is published. A page that no longer responds is replaced or removed, and links to other TechGenuinely guides lead to live pages.

Illustrations, never fake screenshots

Some guides use a generated image. Its caption always starts with “Illustration”, and it shows a simplified device, with no readable text and no realistic menu. To walk you through a setting, the guide gives the exact name of each menu, such as “Settings” › “Device Info”.

Guides kept up to date

A guide is revised when its information gets old: a new app version, a menu that moved, a product that is no longer sold. Its update date then appears under the title, next to its publication date.

Earlier guides

Guides published before we adopted this process are signed by the authors who wrote them. When one of them is revised with this process, it is signed “TechGenuinely Editorial Team” and gets the verification badge.

Amazon links

Buying guides link to products on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, TechGenuinely earns from qualifying purchases, and the price you pay stays the same. Those links are plain text, and product boxes are labeled “Affiliate link”.

We never show prices: they change too often to stay accurate on a page.
